I implemented this into my summer plans last summer and had a success of about $287 (I don't remember the precise amount). I was successful working two jobs until I tried to throw in a third job. That's when I screwed everything up. But this year will be different. I will be working two jobs and taking two classes during the summer.
I plan to use my zoo check towards the money I got scammed out of and the money I earn from my school towards building a emergency fund.
I get paid biweekly at both jobs and I want to build money quickly so I plan to use this chart:
With this chart, I will be saving every two weeks for 26 weeks. By the end, I should have $1,378. Now I've been told I'm crazy for trying this but hey, why not? Its all about discipline. Can you budget yourself and discipline yourself enough to save from every paycheck without taking it back? I'm not cray. Least not yet. This can be done and has been done by Danielle of SheMakesCents. She used the money to pay off her student debt and is now using the challenge to pay for her wedding. I watched her blog (and read) as she saved Bingo Style and paid off her debt. It sparked me to try it.
This summer I will complete my goal of saving money and putting some away for an emergency fund. Its going to be hard but I am extremely determined.
Would anyone like to join me on this adventure? I'd really like someone to help keep me motivated.
