In his song College, Lyfe reminds men everywhere that learning your woman is like going back to college. He goes on to say that if you pay attention to your woman, you can learn her ways like you would learn your studies in college. His verses consists of what he's learned about his woman like her favorite activities, parts of her personality and her favorite food. "College" illustrates how Lyfe knows his woman like the back of his hand.
I love this song because of the message behind it. Learning a woman (or a man) isn't hard. You just have to ask questions, pay attention and study. JUST LIKE COLLEGE. Simple, right? However, in my generation, many guys aren't interested in getting to know a girl for anything other than sex. Its a sad reality. Also, I found it to be the cutest thing that Lyfe will do the impossible for his woman's happiness because when I am in a relationship, I try to do the exact same. If more men (and women) listened to this song and applied it to their current or future relationships, I am sure most of us wouldn't be single after a month or less. My generation doesn't seem to care about long lasting relationships which kinda bothers me but that's other news. In conclusion, I appreciate this song because it gives the message that relationships can be more fulfilling if you actually get to know the person you're dating like you know yourself. If you pay attention you can learn your partner's ways.
Take a listen below. Oh yeah, here's a quick fun fact: The lyric video takes place at two historic Black colleges; Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. Many of the students you see in the video are apart of a fraternity or sorority. I thought that was awesome.
